Siobhan Mc Mahon

I am a PhD student supervised by Professor Michael Stumpf and funded by the Division of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London. I previously studied at King’s College London, where I obtained a BSc Hons degree in Molecular Genetics, after which I continued on to an MSc in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology at Imperial College.

The aim of my research is to compare dynamical features and information process capability, and in particular in relation to stem cell behaviour in leukaemia. This will be done in collaboration with Prof. Amanda Fisher and Prof. Matthias Merkenschlager, who specialise in lymphocyte development, by employing statistical and computational techniques on data regarding DNA binding protein Ikaros, a key regulator in pre-B cell differentiation and frequently deleted or mutated in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia .
