Maxime Huvet
I have been post-doctoral researcher in the Theoretical System Biology group since March 2008.
I am currently working on biological network evolution and prediction. My main interests are understanding the rules that drive network evolution, the relationship between genomic evolution and network evolution and how genomic evolution properties, known interaction data and other types of information could be used to improve the prediction of biological networks.
Current projects :
- Characterization of the sequence evolution properties of the proteins involved in the Phage shock stress response system identified in Escherichia coli K12 MG1655.
- Prediction of protein-protein interactions in Candida glabrata and comparison with Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
- Development of new network and data visualization tools. One of the objectives is to improve the access and visualization of network related data to facilitate explorative studies.
I am currently employed as a Teaching Fellow. As a Teaching fellow I have been lecturing in the MSc of Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology and the MRes of Systems and Synthetic Biology of imperial College London and involved in the adminstration of the MSc of Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology.
Before this postion, I completed my PhD (Paris VII – Diderot University) on gene organization in human genome according to replication profile. I performed my PhD under the supervision of Claude Thermes in the “Centre de Genetique Moleculaire-CNRS”, Gif-sur-Yvette.
